What Sets The KOBE RAX2130SQB-1 Brillia Apart From Its Competitors?
PROS
CONS
what to look before buying a rangehood?

1) Airflow
Companies tout the CFM (cubic feet per minute) of exhausted air. The more airflow the range hood has, the faster the ventilation, but it does not assure better smoke capture and elimination in your kitchen. Some hoods claim to have modest airflow vented but, it's not the case.

2) Number of Fan Speeds
Most of the range hoods have three to six fan speeds. It is best to choose a minimum of two speeds – a high-speed setting when cooking and a very low and quiet setting after cooking to continue ventilating the area when eating.
Having three settings are too many and unnecessary. If the brand wants to offer more than three speeds, it should use different speed switch, so the user can quickly set their desired speed.
3) Thermostat Control
Some models have a built-in temperature sensor that turns on the fan automatically if the temperature is below, the hood is too high. This feature is usually found on over-the-range microwaves.
The primary purpose of having a thermostat control is to protect the microwave electronics from getting damaged by too much heat.
If the temperature becomes too hot underneath, the exhaust fan will draw away the hot air and attract cooler air from the area.
However, this feature is not recommended, especially if you are using oil when cooking and the pan catches fire, it will turn on the exhaust fan automatically, attracting more air making the situation worst.
4) Exhaust Timer
This feature turns off the fan after a particular time.
5) Installation and Maintenance

Mounting a range hood can be very simple if you show some skills in DIY and if there is power point nearby.
If not, you need to ask an electrician to install one.
Follow the installation instructions carefully. You need an electric drill, necessary hand tools and some help from a friend. Check out other under cabinet range hood models here.
6) Ducted
Setting up range hood in ducted mode is more complicated and includes creating holes in the ceiling or wall for the pipes. The ducting kit is offered separately by most brands.
Choose a smooth, non-flexible ducting and install it through the shortest pathway to the outside. Venting it into a chimney or wall cavity is not a good idea.
7) Recirculating
If you are going to install a range hood in a recirculating mode, mark in the kitchen cabinet or on the wall where you will drill the holes. Some brands provide a template for this, or you can use the range hood itself.
Follow the instructions regarding the minimum height distances from the cooktop. Fasten the screws as your helper holds the range hood in place. Plug in, and you are all done.
8) Converting
Converting the range hood from recirculating to ducted is quite easy.
You will have to remove the cover plate from the back or top of the range hood and place a collar with screws, place a pipe to the collar and insert it into a hole in the ceiling or wall, and remove the carbon filter.
9) Cleaning

It is essential that your range hood functions at its best all the time. To do this, you need to keep it clean.
Regularly wash the mesh filter following the instructions. The less grime and grease it has, the better the airflow.
10) Filter Cost
If you have a range hood in a recirculating mode, the carbon filter requires being replaced more often.
The number of times depends on the amount and type of cooking. Manufacturer recommends replacing it every month up to once a year, and the most common is every 3 to 6 months.
The price of a replacement filter is around $15 the cheapest and $69 the most expensive. Therefore, the money you need to spend on keeping your range hood working efficiently is over $100 a year.
